Sophie and Sarah, a pair of Old English sheepdog sisters living in the Netherlands, are a couple of regular hams when it comes to posing for photos. And that’s OK with their owner Cees Bol, an amateur photographer who loves to follow them around as they post for the camera together with the rest of their sheepdog friends.
Meet Sophie and Sarah, a pair of English Sheepdogs who live in the Netherlands with their photographer pop, Cees Bol.
6-year-old Sophie and 4-year-old Sarah are sisters from different litters, but they’re still inseparable.
They love to pose, and they’ve posed in plenty of beautiful locations – from the fields of Sibculo in the Netherlands where they live to the Austrian Alps.
Mr Bol says the main reason why he continues to snap pictures of his beloved pets is because he likes putting a smile on people’s faces.
“In a world full of bad things, I found a way to make it a little bit brighter. And seeing people happy makes me happy.”

With their tongues hanging out and tails wagging, Sarah and Sophie perch over a branch after enjoying a walk in the Dutch countryside.

Mr Bol says the dogs like to pose because they know they will get cookies as a reward.
As well as taking pictures of just Sophie and Sarah, Mr Bol and his partner Hannake often pose up their pets with other dogs.
Bol explained, “I am just an amateur, but photography is a big part of my life… I just became a little bit better through the years, and thanks to my sweet models who pose so well.”
Bol suggests letting dogs be on their most natural behavior. “Find out what the dogs like most and try to get the best out of it. Don’t force them to do something, you can see it in the picture when a dog isn’t happy.”
